Barnabé Chaussard et ses successeurs : 1492-1560
Clémence Miellet
The printer-bookseller, Barnabé Chaussard, carries on his activity from 1492 to 1527. After his death, it is his widow, her successive husbands, and then her now of age sons who run the workshop he has founded. However, in spite of all those hazards, the Chaussard manage to keep a clear editorial line. They specialize themselves in those little cheap books which will become in the next century la Bibliothèque Bleue.
